Ir Ch LESANDNIC LIMESTONE LAD JW - Neville  (photo at 7 months/4 yrs)

Neville is by Ritlo Bafana in Black ex Bardings Brocade, and was born on 2nd December 2001. He won five BP awards at Ch shows and was RBPIS at the West of England Dachshund Association's October Show on his way to becoming Top Wire Puppy 2002 (Our Dogs/Pedigree Chum) His litter sister Hattie (Lesandnic Lizzy the Lizzard) has won five championship show classes.

In 2003 Neville won his Junior Warrant - he has qualified under every system ever used, and is the first male wire to win a JW since the rules changed to include Open Show wins. He has since won a RCC , 6 major green stars, 2 CACIBs and RBIS at the Hound Association of Ireland May Ch Show (for two years running!). This means he is now battling away with the big boys in Open Classes, where his size has him at a disadvantage - he looks big at home, but not in the show ring. He weighs 24lb.

In January 2004 his first litter was born, ex Chris Gibson's Allfreys Misconception. His son, Eric (Allfreys Seabiscuit) has won Puppy Dog at several championship shows in England, and best puppy at his first Irish Ch. show.

Neville has an excellent temperament (with adults, children, and all breeds of dogs), moves very soundly, has a beautiful head and eye, and is a champion rabbiter! He rarely barks, and is never in anything other than an irrepressibly good mood. He is incredibly enthusiastic about anything he is asked to do - and can make anyone smile! We thought he never did anything wrong but in the last few days he has been seen making holes in the "lawn".

Ch & Ir Ch LESANDNIC LIKE A BUTTERFLY JW - Amanda

Mandy winning her 6th CC, WKC August 05                        Mandy learning to track in Sweden, August 07

Mandy is by Ch Lesandnic Seaczar ex Lesandnic Lizzy The Lizzard and was born on 18th October 2003. She won 3 BP awards at Ch shows and was BPIS at the Dachhsund Club of Wales May open Show, PG2 at Ashbourne Shire Horse Soc. Open Show and BPIS at the Dachhsund Club Ch Show on her way to being runner up Top Puppy (Our Dogs/Pedigree Chum and WHDC) 2004. She was one of the top two wire puppies competing at The Dachshund of The Year contest, January 2005.

Winning her Junior Warrant in March 2005 - the only one of her "class" to do so, Mandy quickly went on to win her title in early June - the youngest Lesandnic we have owned to do so to date (Ch L Lucyrowe was a month younger) . She is our 20th Champion (10th UK), and has currently won 10 CCs (6 with BOB). She was the Top Wire haired Dachshund 2005 ( Dog World)  - the first we have owned to do so well (although Ch L Lucyrowe did achieve this for Jane and Bettie some 10 years ago). Mandy was also the Vitalin Bitch of the Year 2005.

Mandy has an excellent head and coat, good bone, is very sound, a good rabbiter and bombproof, although she dislikes indoor shows, and is much happier outside. She has an excellent "voice"! She adores swimming, pulling hard on the lead, and chasing birds. Like Neville, she is very enthusiastic, but can occasionally be a Prima Donna. She has travelled across Europe by plane, train, boat and car, gone shopping and sight-seeing in Stockholm, and the only thing that upset her was being asked to sit on a car seat rather than in her cage! In Sweden 2007 she started to learn tracking ( Susanne Segersten is a very good teacher) and we hope to develop this.

CH & IR CH AUDLEYS ROADS TO LESANDNIC (CJW- 06, CW-07,CW-08)- Audrey

Audrey was bred by Caroline Pannell and is by Hagen Daas ex Lesandnic Lady Rebecca, Hattie's litter sister. She was born at the end of September 2004, and is a UK Ch (our 11th), gaining her title in less than 6 months, and she has major GS, and BP awards under IKC rules. Brindle with a good harsh jacket, she is a three-quarter sister to Mandy and very similar in type and temperament. Audrey weighs 9kg, and her pedigree includes both German and Scandinavian lines.

Ir Ch LESANDNIC SEALIA - Sealia

Sealia is by Hagen Daas ex Ir Ch Lesandnic Lucky Song and was born in October 2002. She is brindle with a good coat and again is the correct size, under 10kg.  A very well behaved dog like her father, Travis, Sealia has qualified for the KCSB and has several 1st placings at KC Ch shows, including Crufts 2005, plus major GS wins - she has been pulled out in an IKC Ch Hound Group. She has a Ch show winning sister (Shani Hastings' L Sealebrity) and the Speak's L Seanymph, another sister, has also been consistently placed at Ch and Open level.

BARDINGS BROCADE - Mollie

Mollie was bred by Shani Hastings and is by Ch L Snojoke ex Lesandnic Lilias (an In the Groove daughter). She is from Ernest's last litter and as she is also an Ivy grand-daughter she is very special to us (as is her older sister - Bardings Bunty, whose claim to fame is that she beat the famous Lankelly Bryony as a puppy!). She has a fantastic temperament and is bombproof off the lead, regularly taking on cross country courses and anyone she might meet there. She qualified for Crufts at her very first show and it has been down hill all the way since - although she now appears in veteran classes, please do not tell her as she thinks she is still a puppy!! Along the way she has appeared as a role model at seminars - her head and bite are copy book - and has picked up a RGS & Res CACIB - and BP awards at open show level. She is the only 8 year old dachshund we know of who has been shown consistently and still jumps for joy in the ring, no matter who shows her! She can talk to you,  and loves watching TV - especially snooker and horse racing. What she does not like is any form of grooming that last longer than 5 seconds! Another of our team to weigh in at under 10kg.

LESANDNIC LIZZY THE LIZZARD - Hattie

Mollie's daughter, Neville's sister, Mandy's mother - what can we say - there is only one Hattie! Completely unlike any of our other dogs, the best companion you could possibly have, but .........! A real character, a wonderful coat, an amazing hunter, again under 10kg, but rather too much ribcage and not enough hind angulation. Hattie has gained her KCGC gold, silver and bronze awards.

HAGEN DAAS - Travis

Joan's equivalent of Lesley's Hattie - but so much better behaved, and much more of a one-man dog (he will not show for Lesley so has to be campaigned from Ireland). Travis is by Ch Lesandnic Seaczar ex Sue and Ian Seath's Icelandic import, Salka. The only one of that line to win consistently in the show-ring, he has a CC and RCC under KC rules and more than enough points for his Irish title under IKC rules - he just needs one more major, and like many of our males is fated to be beaten by different kennelmates when a major is on offer. He has sired consistently sound, successful puppies with good temperaments, and he has also tried his hand at obedience and agility - he is a KC Good Citizen.

LIEBLING PONDER ON ME - Ruby

Ruby arrived to ensure we always had a red, and is positively spoilt by all who visit because of her blonde bombshell appearance. Don't be fooled - appearances can be deceptive, and we are the proud owners of the evidence - a much chewed pair of kitchen curtains and a mobile phone, amongst other items! She was consistently placed in Puppy Classes, winning BPIS at Dachshund Club of Wales and BPIB at Lancs. & Cheshire. Her coat is not her best feature, so she has a rather limited show career - if we can fool the judges, she is normally graded excellent!

BARDINGS BUNTY - Bunty

Mollie's sister from an earlier litter, Bunty gets her own way in life - its easier. A very demanding red, who has even managed to convince Dad that some wire-haired dachshunds (red ones called Bunty, of course) definitely require a share of his toast in the morning - and believe us that took some doing! Bunty is a Ch show first prize-winner - something her younger sister Mollie will never live down. Apart from having a wonderful opinion of herself, she has a lovely nature and loves everyone and all other dogs - unless they threaten her toast! Like Mollie, she has never really been convinced of the need to stand on a table with her legs where we want them, but has now taken to appearing to her fans in veteran classes occasionally. She is the mother of the CC winning Ir Ch L. Lucky Song from her only litter, and another daughter, L Lazy Susan is the foundation of Gwen and Norman Mankins' Birchmans.

IR CH LESANDNIC LUCKY SONG (CW 06)- Judy

Judy is Bunty's CC winning daughter - and a real lady. Quite the politest and most unassuming wire we have ever had - unless a bird tries to land in her garden, or when she takes off at high speed on the beach or racetrack! She was the top winning bitch puppy in her year, but then her showing opportunities were seriously curtailed by Lesley's work commitments, and she retired to Ireland to have a litter of puppies and gain her Irish title. A great showgirl, she was very proud that all 4 of her bitch puppies were good enough to show, and is delighted that her first grandchildren in the ring qualified for Crufts at their first attempt for Bob and Nancy Speak. She came out as a veteran, only to find the rules had changed and she was still eligible for the CACIB, BGS and the new Celtic Winner title at St Patrick's Day 2006 under respected breed specialist Zena Thorn-Andrews.

LESANDNIC SOLERINA CJW-08 - Renée

Sealia's daughter, by Neville, born on 02.12.06 and rather promising at present. Don't be fooled by Rene's laid back appearance in the showring - she's a demon off the lead, and known on Ballyholme beach for her speed.

LESANDNIC LARSSON - Percy

A clown - one of the most engaging personalities we have had yet, a very hard coated dark brindle who can move like a train.

LESANDNIC LIBERTHINE - Tina

Her mother's daughter - a mini-Mandy, right down to the prima donna temperament!

LESANDNIC LILY AGNES - Square

The brains of the family - her coat is not her fortune, but boy can she move, and the closest we have yet to a 9kg ideal.

LESANDNIC STRIKE UP THE BAND - Brenda

Audrey's daughter - a medium sized, hard coated brindle, very like her Mum in temperament.

and the miniatures:

LESANDNIC NICKEL COIN - Connie - Katie's daughter, a real standard in miniature who loves nothing better than going for a walk with the "big ones" - as long as Hattie is not around! Connie is a really sound bitch with an excellent brindle coat and a smashing head - we are looking forward to showing her under FCI rules!

LESANDNIC EMBLEM - Smudge - Connie's daughter, who thinks she is a standard as she was a puppy at the same time as Mandy and can not forget that she was once the same size! She is an adorable little black and tan hooligan, who can shake hands, and jump on to a chair - and she is a major GS winner too!

WENTWOOD OVER TO YOU LESANDNIC - Harvey - proven sire and a very promising son of Ch/JapCh Drakesleat JP Baro Trier. Unfortunately, another miniature who would rather fool around at home than go to a show - and boy does he fool around - but he is getting better......
